My Father threw me to the Crocodiles
My name is Cesario Bumba. I am 29 years old and married to Rebeca Bimbi. We have two daughters, Elsa and Priscila. We are Angolans from the Umbundo tribe.

When I was young I was a notorious thief. This damaged my relationshjips with neigbours and also with my own family. One day my family threw me into a river teeming with crocodiles, while my father cursed me terribly.

Because God takes no pleassure in a sinner's death and because He had a purpose for my life I escaped from the crocodiles mouth. Halleluja! When I returned home nobody spoke to me.

During that night I deamed that I was in a queue with 12 boys. A man, dressed in white, stood before us. He asked each one: "Do you or don't you want to steal?" The others said they wanted to stop. Only I prefered to steal. I couldn't get back to sleep after that. The follwing morning I was very annoyed. I told my father about the dream. He begged me to stop stealing, "otherwise your end will be very sad," he said.

I paid no attention and became an even worse thief. I got severely beaten and landed in prison many times. I still didn't stop.

Until one day I started going to church, where I insisted on sitting on the first seat. People first stared at me, then they ignored me.

During a congress at the church God's spirit moved my heart and I became very aware of my sin. Even though I wanted very much to answer the preacher's invitation to come forward for prayer but I couldn't. I felt all tied up. Eventually two brothers layed hands on me and prayed for me. Back home my parents didn't believe me when I told them what took place.

After a long time they believed me and I got baptized. Six month after that YWAM missionaries were at my church, preaching. They also talked about the DTS and that is where I received the missionary call. I understood that God wanted me involved in the Great Comission. I did DTS in 1994 and until now I am here at YWAM Lobito, working as a native full time missionary.

May God be praised.
