YWAM Lobito, Primary Health Care
This project is designed to assist the sick. Our assistance involves basic clinical help and creating awareness regarding prevention and treatment of illnesses common in this area, like malaria and typhoid fever. We take the seriously ill to the hospital and train other missionaries in elementary health issues.
Staff Needs:
  • Doctor (short term or occasionally)
  • Medical assistant
  • Two nurses
Needs:

Air-conditioned building with at least three rooms to tend to patients and to store medicines.

Needs:

Ambulance to transport emergency cases to hospital and for use as Mobile Clinic in rural districts (see Unreached People Groups).

By caring for people's health needs we found favour, also with the local chiefs. This makes it much easier to communicate the Gospel with the gentleness of Christ. In return, many people have received Jesus, after having received medical attention.

One lady brought her feverish son. He had failed responding to medication. We took a blood test and established he suffered from Malaria. Even though we prescribed the same medication, this time round he got better right away. This was a powerful testimony to the mother, who started to believe in the power of Jesus.

We also see and treat a lot of sick children, who's families are impacted by the rapid recovery this children have.
