His heart beats for the animistic Mukubal people
Sebastião was 6 years old when an overnight visitor asked the little boy for a cup of cold water. Sebastiao had observed his family practice hospitality and brought a cup of Kissangua, the traditional, non-alcoholic brew, instead. The visitor prophesied:
"This boy will be a servant of God." In the years to come two more people made the same statement.

For several years Sebastião forgot about it and lived his life the way he wanted. Eventually he owned up to the realisation that he was called to serve God and made plans to go to seminary. But God had different plans for the young man, who learned to obey God.

In 1994 Sebastião did a Discipleship Training School in Lobito, where he learned of people who had never heard the Gospel in their own language, having neither a church nor the Bible they could relate to. For three years he worked in Evangelism and Church Planting with a YWAM couple in Omunda Yevambo, working with the isolated Mukuando people.

But his heart really beats for the animistic Mukubal people, also in South-eastern Angola. "God wants them represented before his throne," Sebastiao says, "praising him and walking in the ways of God, free from their bondage to witchcraft, which causes them to dedicate their children to demons."
Sebastião wants to learn their language, Olukuvale, so he can speak with them about the God of love, who values them and wants them and their children to live healthy lives. He can give them wisdom in how to deal with the authorities of the land so their resources are not exploited selfishly.
