Ellie's Parents didn't want her to become a missionary.
She did and now pursues her passion for teaching.
I was always a girl with good manners and very spoiled. My parents had big plans for my life-a good education, wealth, possibly fame and, of course, marriage.

Then I was confronted with the the words from Hebrews 3 v15. "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts ...." I felt God wanted me to do the Discipleship Training School (DTS).

While doing the DTS, in 2001, I was impressed by the power of God. I heard his voice, saying "...From now on I will tell you of new things, of hidden things unknown to you."

When I told my parents I wanted to become a missionary with Youth With A Mission, it wasn't at all what they wanted to hear. My father refused speaking to me and I felt very much alone. Somehow the Lord comforted me and my spiritual family encouraged me. Of late the relationship with my family is getting better. I thank God for that.
