Martin and Gentrix Baraza came to YWAM Athi River in 2004 as a married couple. They are both Kenyans from the Western part of the country but had both spend a sizeable number of years working in Nairobi.

Martin did his DTS in Mombasa, where after they all came to Athi River Base, with Gentrix doing her DTS at Athi River Base. Martin has since worked with 'Operation Andrew', the YWAM Athi River Evangelism outfit; he also assisted on work assignments, as is part of the base leadership. Gentrix previously lead the hospitality department and is now leading the kitchen department as others handle hospitality.

Martin's vision and passion is to serve God through writing. He believes that the time will come when he may switch to the area of communication. He believes he has a pastoral calling. In this aspect too he is awaiting God's perfect timing.
