| We train villagers to become health care workers in their own villages. One month of training in the classroom is followed by 'hands-on' experience in their own environment, while being coached by our trained YWAM staff. Thereafter we provide ongoing training, three to five times a year.
Within a 12 km radius from the base we have established 15 rural health posts. Individual villages own these projects and provide the buildings. YWAM supplies the initial medicines, which the health care workers sell thus enabling them to re-stock their store and be self-sufficient.
At the time of writing, about 160 villagers have trained with us. Some work in administering the health posts, others more directly in prevention and curative health care.
