In our desire for the Gospel to be made known in the nation of Senegal we encourage and train young people to enter active ministry. We feel the Serer people are vital to spreading God's message to the rest of the country, because of their special relationship to the other tribes. One of the goals for the DTS is to evangelize the Serer people.

Our next DTS is in January 2008. Three months of classroom teaching will be followed by three months of field-assignment within the Serer areas. Not only does our DTS give students a unique insight into various cultures living together, but allows them to simultaneously gain a first-hand experience of living in a totally different culture. This is invaluable to anybody considering missionary work in foreign fields. No amount of study can rival making friends on level ground with a Serer person in his and her local environment.
