Welcome to Bulawayo,
Zimbabwe's second largest city. The city is also known as the city of Kings and lies in the South West of the country astride the main lines of communication by road, raid and air between South and Central Africa. It is this geographical location which has made this city the hub of Matebeleland, a large province extending from Beitbridge on the South Africa border in the South to the Victoria Falls on the Zambezi river in the North, and which includes two international tourist attractions; the Victoria Falls and Hwange National Park, with its variety of animal and bird life.

YWAM first came to Zimbabwe in 1974 and was re-established in Bulawayo in 1980 by Mike Oman, and has since been in operation. The name of the training base is Peniel, named after the story in Genesis 32 where Jacob wrested with God and he was transformed. Over the years, Peniel has been a place where men and women have been totally transformed by God to transform cultures, peoples and nations.
