YWAM Lusaka first started in 1986. In 2001 we moved to a piece of land where we are building our own property. YWAM Lusaka is in a semi-rural area 15 km from the capital city. Transport to and from the city is readily available. We have our own bore hole and electricity at the base. This is a farming community where the predominant local employment is farm work.

There are wonderful ministry opportunities within a 2 km radius of the YWAM base, for example working with youth, schools, churches and village communities . The main issues affecting the local people are poverty, drunkenness, family conflicts, HIV/AIDS, and a sense of hopelessness and apathy amongst the youth.
