CHURCH PLANTING -- Português
Zambézia province still has a number of unreached and under reached people groups. Several of our team members are involved in this ministry reaching out to these people.
In an area called Gonhane, across the river from Quelimane one church has been planted by a couple on the churchplanting team. The major religions are catholicism, folk islam and animism.
Other members of the team are reaching out into a place called Idugo, an island off the coast of Pebane, about 300 km from Quelimane. The island has a population of approximatly 12.000. The main source of income is fishing. YWAMers have joined in the fishing, as a form of evangelism. This was also very well received. It has 13 mosques and one catholic chappel. The leaders of the community (all of them Muslim) are always excited about and welcoming to YWAM.
Our DTS outreaches also focus on these areas and people groups.
