Hope and Healing Children’s Home

"I will bring health and healing to it. I will have my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security". Jeremiah 33:6

The vision Peterson and Celia have is to reach the orphans and neglected children before they get to the streets. The aim for this project is to give these children hope for their future and bring healing to their hearts and lives.

We believe that the children will find value in themselves from the love, care, and attention that is given to them by their foster parents and from the wider family environment.

We are planning to build 8 houses to accommodate 8 couples who will be living at the YWAM Athi-River base with their 12 fostered children. We would also like to start a Primary school with a Christian based education system where the children will not only study the academic subjects, but also have the opportunity to learn about Jesus Christ. The Base already has a pre-school operating.

The Bible states in Proverbs 22:6 to “train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it”. So we would like to invite you to be a part of what God has called us to do with the orphans in Kenya.

In Kenya alone the population of abandoned children is about 34 million .More than half of the children are under the age of 15. AIDS and other diseases cause hundreds to die everyday leaving these children to care for themselves. So, who will care for these children? What will become of their future? If no one rescues these children, they will become another statistic, and be trapped in the cycle of social injustice.

Peterson and Celia have kicked off their project by becoming the first family to live on the base with 9 children, 2 of whom are their biological children. They have adopted Julian in Brazil, as well as fostering 6 extra children who they have taken in as part of their family ministry.
